Just two days after their success at the European Games of Small States, Team Malta returned to the mats in Riga, Latvia, to compete in the prestigious Riga Open G1 — a graded World Taekwondo event that brought together elite athletes from across Europe and beyond.

Team Malta made an impressive showing at the European Games of Small States, held this year in Riga, Latvia, bringing home three medals from four competitors — a proud moment for Maltese Taekwondo on the international stage.

The Iron Taekwondo senior team, made up of Czarek Odlanicki (-87 kg) and Fergeson Galea (-63 kg), recently took part in the renowned Polish Open G1, one of Europe’s most competitive Taekwondo events. Led by coach Gianluca Barbara, the team faced a tough challenge as they went head-to-head with some of the sport’s elite.
