The Malta Taekwondo Association (MTA) has achieved a significant milestone on the international stage, rising to 41st place out of 215 Member National Associations worldwide in the latest World Taekwondo Governance and Performance Report for 2026.

The National Lottery PLC and Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) together announced that Gianluca Barbara (ITL) won the first IZIBET Elite Athlete Award for 2024; an award that covers the months of January and February.

After some serious results, four affiliates of the MTA have been nominated for a Malta Sports Journalists Association Award.
