Maltese taekwondo was represented on one of the Mediterranean region’s biggest sporting stages as 17-year-old Alycia Cassar competed in the Women’s -67kg category at the XX Mediterranean Games – Taranto 2026, accompanied by her coach, Gianluca Barbara.

The Malta Taekwondo Association’s “Taekwondo for Turtles – Kicking for a Greener Future” initiative has concluded on a high note, with Malta’s Taekwondo community not only exceeding its original fundraising target, but also getting a first-hand look at the wildlife rehabilitation work their contributions are helping to support.

The Maltese Taekwondo community came together once again for the second collaborative summer training camp, organised by Mauro Busuttil, Head Coach of Strive Taekwondo Club Malta, with guest coaches Gianluca Barbara and Ditmir Vodinaj from Iron Taekwondo League.
